Tao Yin

Tao Yin Song San Fa is an old set of movements. Tao Yin exercises pre-date Qi Gong and Yoga, and some of the exercises practiced in the Tao Yin sequence will feel familiar to people who have experience practicing qi gong, yoga, martial arts, modern dance, and other internal arts.

The series is practiced to promote mind-body balance, for exercise, and for relaxation. Most movements are practiced standing, with some stretches practiced seated on the floor. The first part of class can be modified and practiced seated on a stool or chair if needed.

Coordination with breathing is emphasized in the series, with some movements that are very simple or passive and some movements that are more active and dynamic.
